ladyaxum gave me:
Tye dye, photography,theater, conventions, tweets
TyeDye: I actually flip back and forth between wearing dark colors often, and wearing the Loud and Proud TyeDye and Hawaian. It's all based on my mood at the moment or what I'd like my mood to be.
Photography: I'm not that creative of person. No real talent to draw or write, but I find that I'm a good documentarian. Photography gives me a way of being doing that in a creative way. If my photos don't tell you exactly what's going on, I probably failed at capturing what I was seeing. Also, I have a fairly crappy memory, things get fuzzy with time. So have a photo log of events helps to jog my memory and keep things straight.
Theater: I'm not a performer* either, but I'm amazed by what performers can do. Be a character, invoke a emotion, tell a story. From the back of stage, I can at least help them do all that. Build the world they walk and create in, set their props, heck even change their clothes. To see someone step out on stage and become someone else is always amazing. * I've acted on stage twice and hated every minute of my time on stage and got nothing from the audience reactions. Chris found a tape of one of my shows and even my loving wife could not deny my acting was wooden.
Conventions: Was/Is my primary social outlet. I'm actually an introvert, but conventions are filled with "my people" and I can come out of my shell. For many years, the con me and mundane me were radically different and separate people.
Tweets: As my LJ bio says "don't expect any deep...posts", I normally think and write in short bursts. It always seemed a bit inane to post short little "hey I noticed this today" posts with no followup to my LJ which was orginally meant to be a diary format. Tweets allow me to do those short little posts without feeling inane, even though they are often are really inane.
