Reply to this meme by yelling "Words!" and I will give you five words that remind me of you. Then post them in your LJ and explain what they mean to you.

Words from iamradar

I'm a big round guy. My fashion choices are not-so-slimming black, generic giant t-shirts or bright colors. Despite being a bit of a introvert and very shy (much to some folks surprise), I decided several years ago to go with the loud and colorful tye-dye and hawaiian shirt choices.

I've owned dogs and can even do some training, but I'm truly a cat person. I love their intelligence & independence. On the selfish side, that means I can clean out the catbox, fill the food & water bowls, then go off for the weekend with /n/o little worries of finding a mess when I get back. While cuddles from a dog are good, there is nothing more soothing then a purring cat curled up on your lap.

It's the license plate on our primary car. My Lady and I met, courted, and *ahemed* for the first timed at sf conventions. Many aspects of our life revolve around SF convetions and fandom in general. Even our Taiko & Theatre cirles end up intersecting with our fanish circles.

Stage 1

Community Theatre. I first started working in theatre in college, when some dorm friends asked if I could help them with task in the theatre. we set up for a show, then watched it from the wings and booth. I've been hooked on live theatre ever since. I even did some when I was in Australia, even acted in 2 shows. a few years ago, chris and I showed up at a meeting and said we could help a "little". That large sucking sound you hear in July 2002 was us working every show, helping with all the sets, assistant costuming, dressing, and stage crewing. while we have taken breaks, Stage1 has become a huge part of our lives.

Just a silly little site, that lets you take daily picture of yourself. See how you change over the course of time as the images are played flip book style.

What's up in my life or why my LJ appears dead...

I've always been a short poster. So Twitter and Facebook fit my style very well. Most of my content is on one or the other of those services.

My Twitter posts do feed back into LJ via the "Really Short Random Musings
( The Daily Tweets of JohnO )" posts. Yes there are conversation fragments there, but most likely just short little stand alone posts.

I still read LJ first and am a active commenter.

One major thing that has changed is that after nearly 18 months of not testing my blood (daily or lab tests) I got my blood tested and a1c was 8.5. Which is the flag point for a diabetic to start on insulin shots.

Yep, every night I'm giving myself 20-24 units of NPH insulin and check my blood 2-4 times a day (Morning & Night (for sure) and Lunch & Dinner (if able/remember)). This is to make sure my blood glucose is in the proper range of 80-130.

I'm also checking my blood pressure and doing weekly weight checks.

So I do a daily "tweet" of my Morning Numbers:

bg: blood glucose.

bp: blood pressure.

p: pulse (mainly because my auto cuff provides it)

w: weight.

Morning Numbers: bg: 134 bp: 108/65 p: 65 w: 300

I sometimes include commentary on my activity/food intake, esp if the numbers are high or low.

My near term targets are:

bg: regularly under 130, mid-term < 120
bp: holding steady at a good level
p: is already low, but could be lower.
w: short term 280, mid-term 250

Otherwise, there is theatre (The Producers open the weekend after Westercon), cons (Westercon), Taiko classes on Tue & Sat and work transition issues (that is whole seperate entry that needs to be written up, that are all sucking the tiny trickly of creative juices I have.
