FAQ: How to post a picture...
Stashing a copy here, so I can grab it and post to picture groups when the question comes around again...
Greetings all,
Just a short little tutorial on how to post a picture.
Upload your photos to web site that allows direct serving of images.
Many freebees like GeoCites do not allow this.
A popular service is printroom.com.
MSN and FOTKI also allow direct image references.
There are others that I'm sure will get posted to the comments.
Create a LJ posting with the following elements (admittedly some of this style and manners):
Write something about what you are posting.
Add LJ-Cut tag, before the big images, so folks on slow connections can choose to download the pictures.
<lj-cut text="Pithy little comment">
Follow it with the IMG SRC tag wrapping the pics URL:
<img src="URL">
Tip for printroom: You can remove the &courtesy=1 portion of the URL.
Remember: You can have multiple pics per post.
